• Description:
• The Ministry of Education is committed to fostering healthy development in all students, including promoting good nutrition and physical activity. Recognizing the increasingly prevalent issue of childhood obesity, the MoE seeks proposals from qualified consultants to develop a comprehensive and evidence-based strategy to address obesity rates among students in public and private schools. The development of the strategy should follow a whole of government approach which is not limited to the MoE but encompasses the wider government (e.g. MOHAP, KHDA, ADEK, ESE, MOCD) and concerned sectors. The strategy should provide strategic directions to prevent obesity among children and outline goals and objectives to promote obesity prevention through education, supporting policy and changes in the school environment. The project is expected to be conducted in three phases: • P1: Baseline assessment. • P2: Strategy articulation. • P3: Implementation roadmap.
