Description:
The Department of Municipalities and Transport is seeking to engage a contractor for a project to supply the requirements outlined in this Scope of Work. The Surveying Operations Regulations at the Spatial Data Division in the Department operates a LiDAR unit from Trimble which is the MX9 Dual Head + Single Head unit a sophisticated piece of technology that uses pulsed laser light for precise, three-dimensional mapping of the Earth's surface and its various characteristics. LiDAR technology is instrumental in generating 3D spatial data for building facades, auditing As-built Drawings, inspecting and measuring road characteristics, calculating excavation and backfill quantities, 3D scanning of various landmarks, and conducting surveys of desert areas for urban planning. To ensure the LiDAR unit continues to effectively serve DMT and its affiliates, it is essential to procure the necessary equipment and software related to this technology.
