Description:
This project aims to implement comprehensive preservation, safety, and accessibility improvements across five locations within Sheikh Khalifa Mosque, including the Falaj and Thoqba areas. Works will address essential measures such as bird control, dismantling and reconstructing boundary walls with waterproofing and height adjustments, cleaning and connecting drainage systems, relocating informational panels, installing and enhancing safety handrails, and levelling wheelchair ramps to meet accessibility standards. Locationspecific tasks include installing additional safety handrails along the Falaj pathway and, at the Thoqba, constructing a protective shelter, removing the existing glass cover, adjusting the ramp gradient, and adding safety handrails along the pathway above. All activities will comply with DCT-s heritage protection and accessibility guidelines, ensuring the sites are safeguarded, visitor safety is enhanced, and infrastructure is harmonized with the mosque-s heritage context.
