• Description:
• Background Financial Literacy is a core service that is provided by Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority to our beneficiaries, given that they are considered low-income families. Financial management, debt management and financial insecurity are critical social challenges facing low-income families. The program is delivered by our supplier, through workshops as well as one-on-one counselling sessions. The program has been running for 2 years, catering to 1,000 families in 2024. They are all Arabic-speaking. The number of sessions attended by each family varies (e.g. 1 - 5 sessions) depending on their needs. Almost 68% of participants are male. In addition, given that the families are low-income families, around 80% of participants hold an education degree of high school or lower. When it comes to age range, participants fall into 20-60+ years, with 87% falling into the 30-49 years old category. To evaluate the program, we at SSA conducted a customer satisfaction survey in 2024. However, the survey is not enough to provide tangible evidence of the impact the program may have had on beneficiaries- financial situation, and whether it was effective.
