Description:
Request for proposals are invited for Data Collection RFP- UAE. MAGENTA will take a phased, mixed-methods approach to this assessment that allows us to unpack behaviours. Our primary target audience will be the parents and caregivers of children aged 0-8 years (including expecting parents) who have lived in the UAE for 5 years or plus. SCOPE OF WORK: MAGENTA is looking for a data collection partner in Abu Dhabi to support MAGENTA with the following data collection methods. Quantitative Survey: Quantitative survey will be conducted with parents and primary caregivers of children aged 0-8 years old in the three regions of Abu Dhabi Emirate. A sample size of 800 will be used that will be distributed proportional to size of the population in each region to ensure representativeness at the Emirate level. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs): FGDs will be conducted with the parents and caregivers of young children 0-8 years old. The sample will be purposively selected for FGDs to assess in-depth knowledge, attitude and social norms related to the early child development. FGDs will involve a broad sample of people living in the Emirate across three regions and will be divided by gender, age and nationality (Emiratis and Foreigners). Additionally, FGDs will also be conducted with the ECD practitioners to understand the supply side barriers, gaps and practices at the environmental level. Key Informant Interviews (KIIs); KIIs will be conducted with key experts in each of the ECA-s interventions sector from both the private and public sector organizations. These would include officials selected from the health and nutrition, child protection, early childcare and education and family support sector. For KIIs, respondent lists will be provided to the data collection team. MAGENTA will develop all the research tool in English, which will be provided to the data collection team. The team will responsible for the translations and back-translation of the quantitative and qualitative tools in Arabic.
